The Sheridan Arts Foundation and Telluride Gravity Works are proud to present a double feature ski movie on Sunday, Nov. 9 with Teton Gravity Research's latest offerings, Jeremy Jones' latest feature "Higher" (a snowboard film) and "Almost Ablaze" (a ski and snowboard film) screening at the Sheridan Opera House. "Almost Ablaze" screens at 5 p.m. and "Higher" screens at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for each screening or $25 for both! Telluride Gravity Works will be handing out tons of free schwag at both screenings.

The Sheridan Arts Foundation presents Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue live in concert at the historic Sheridan Opera House during its annual 2014 Holiday Concert Series. New Orleans native Trombone Shorty began his career as a bandleader at the young age of six, toured internationally at age 12, and spent his teens playing with various brass bands throughout New Orleans and touring worldwide with Lenny Kravitz. He is currently the front man for his own ensemble Orleans Avenue, a funk/rock/jazz/hip-hop band. Texas alt-rock bluegrass band Seryn returns to Telluride with a seated show at the historic Sheridan Opera House. With their beautifully layered instrumentation, chilling harmony vocals, and exquisite dynamics, it's hard to imagine that Seryn is a relatively new band and not seasoned veterans. Their songs may first appear as straight folk songs before transforming into transcendent and triumphant walls of sound. Their live presence, with each member swapping instruments and joining in on the chorus, is as joyful and stirring as music gets.
